Demilitarized Zone

After a few days of uncertainty about whether or not we’d be able to go to the DMZ because North Korea was blowing up roads to South Korea at the time, we got the go ahead and were on our way! The DMZ was a significantly contrasting place, it’s a military base with huge military presence and security, but also a very popular tourist attraction with food outlets and souvenir shops 🤯 We weren’t allowed to take any photos of military personnel or looking towards North Korea, but we did get a great view of North Korea from the Dora Observatory.

We were extremely fortunate to secure tickets to go inside the third tunnel (it’s limited to only 150 people per day) which was a really cool experience, but not for the claustrophobic!

We then headed back to Seoul and for our last night together the group went out to Cookin’ Nanta, a really entertaining show that incorporates cooking, comedy, dance and music. Then we had dinner at Two Two Chicken a popular korean fried chicken chain restaurant. I’ve been so lucky to have had great groups of people on both of my other
G Adventures trips and this time was no exception! Thank you, tour buddies!!!
