Last days in paradise

We opted for another relaxing day to finish off our last full day in Samoa - breakfast, massage, lunch and dinner. Today I had my favourite meal of the trip - a fish burger, and I’m gutted I didn’t discover it sooner! It was delicious 😋

The next morning we had breakfast before the complimentary Saletoga Sands airport transfer took us back to the airport. We were farewelled by the resort owners (who hail from Hamilton) and a large group of staff, they told us that we had arrived as visitors but were leaving as ‘aiga (family) and sung us a beautiful song before escorting us to the vans and waving us off, it was a lovely way to end our time spent there.

At the airport it didn’t take long to check our bags but the line for security was very long (the line went outside and around the terminal) and took about an hour. There are limited shops and mini-marts to buy food at the airport, and the mini-marts only accept cash, so in hindsight booking a flight fare with a meal included for the return trip would have been a good idea.

Whilst Saletoga Sands was affordable and did the job, I would opt to stay somewhere with nicer food next time but all in all, an incredible trip! I’d definitely like to go back one day and I’d go for longer, 10 full days in Samoa, and spend time on both Upolu and Savai’i islands.

Fa'afetai lava Samoa ❤️💙
